(Ordine della Corona d’Italia). Instituted February 20th, 1868. Constructed of 18kt Gold, with blue, green, red, and white enamels, suspended from a fixed loop and swivel ring suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a white-enameled hollow construction Gold cross with Gold knots in the quadrants between the arms of the cross, the obverse with a blue enameled centerpiece bearing a royal crown constructed of white, green, and red enamels, surrounded by a Gold ring, the reverse features a Gold central medallion bearing a black enameled eagle with a red and white enameled shield on its chest, surrounded by a matching Gold ring, unmarked, measuring 37.9 mm (w) x 40.9 mm (h), weighs 15.8 grams (including ribbon), minor wear, extremely fine.
Accompanied by the miniature of the order and boutonniere. Contained in the original case of issue, red velvet exterior with superimposed VE Crowned monogram on the lid, interior in silk and velvet, measures 110 mm (w) x 135 mm (h) x 30 mm (d), functional hinge and clasp, very fine condition.
