Italy, Kingdom. An Order of the Crown of Italy, Fifth Class Knight, in Gold, c.1920

(Ordine della Corona d’Italia). Instituted February 20th, 1868. Constructed of 18kt Gold, with blue, green, red, and white enamels, suspended from a fixed loop and swivel ring suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a white-enameled hollow construction Gold cross with Gold knots in the quadrants between the arms of the cross, the obverse with a blue enameled centerpiece bearing a royal crown constructed of white, green, and red enamels, surrounded by a Gold ring, the reverse features a Gold central medallion bearing a black enameled eagle with a red and white enameled shield on its chest, surrounded by a matching Gold ring, unmarked, measuring 36.5 mm (w) x 38.5 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), weighing 12.42 grams with ribbon, near mint.  

Accompanied by its presentation case, constructed of a lightweight wooden core and a lightly textured light green/cream leather exterior, the interior of the lid is lined with an off white cotton-silk blended fabric, very fine.
