Italy, Kingdom. A Pair of Orders of the Crown in Gold, Third Class Commander

(Ordine della Corona d’Italia). Instituted February 20th, 1868. (c. 1900). Both constructed of 18kt Gold, with blue, green, red, and white enamels, suspended from a fixed loop and swivel ring suspension from its period original neck ribbon, consisting of a white-enameled hollow constructed 18kt Gold cross with matching Gold knots in the quadrants between the arms of the cross, the obverse with a blue enameled centerpiece bearing a royal crown constructed of white, green, and red enamels, surrounded by a Gold ring, the reverse features a Gold central medallion bearing a black enameled eagle with a red and white enameled shield on its chest, surrounded by a matching Gold ring, measuring 50 mm (w) x 52.6 mm (h-inclusive of integral ring), 17.09 grams as well as 50.02 mm (w) x 52.7 (h),16.63 grams, both on period ribbons, minor enamel crack to blue centre, otherwise better than very fine.
