International. A Mixed Lot of Awards and Insignia

A mixed lot of awards and insignia, including: 

1. A Soviet Order of the Red Star, Type II, constructed of silver with enamels, consisting of a five-pointed star, the obverse with red enameled arms, bearing a central medallion overlaid by a Red Army soldier in full uniform and clutching a rifle, surrounded by a border bearing a raised Russian Cyrillic inscription of “ПРОЛЕТАРИИ ВСЕХ СТРАН, СОЕДИНЯЙТЕСЬ!” (“WORKERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!”), joined together at the bottom by initials “СССР” (“USSR”), situated above a hammer and sickle the reverse with a central threaded lug retaining an original backplate, etched with an issue number that appears to read “3419830”, maker marked “МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР” for the State Mint, measuring 48.22 mm (w) x 46.23 mm (h), weighing 41.5 grams (inclusive of backplate), in extremely fine condition.

2. A Croatian Legion Commemorative Badge, constructed of an aluminum alloy, the obverse consisting of a linden leaf, bearing a central raised Croatian red and white (substituted with silver) national emblem, topped by a date of “1941” and circumscribed by an inscription of “HRVATSKA LEGIA” (“CROATIAN LEGION”), the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 40 mm (w) x 40 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.

3. A matching set of Ustaše collar tab devices, each constructed of magnetic metal, both perforated with four eyelets for sew-on attachment to an underlay, both unmarked and measuring 30 mm (w) x 50 mm (l), demonstrating minor oxidation, in very fine condition.

4. An Auschwitz Cross, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 44 mm (w) x 44 mm (h), a Polish People’s Republic-era example in extremely fine condition.
