A lovely Gold chain containing eight miniature orders:
Turkey, Ottoman Empire. An Order of the Medjidjie in silver, presenting a seven point star with clusters of five rays and a crescent moon and star between each cluster, a gold and red enamelled centerpiece, suspended from a red enamelled star and crescent moon, the reverse is plain, measures 16.45mm (w) x 23.27mm (h), light enamel wear, dark patina, very fine condition.
France, Republic. An Order of the Legion of Honour, a silver five armed Maltese cross in white enamel with ball finials with a green enamelled wreath in each quadrant, suspended by a green enamelled wreath, the obverse medallion in gold, presents a right facing bust surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE, reverse arms mirror obverse, measures 14.35mm (w) x 21.15mm (h – inclusive of integral ball on wreath suspension), white enamel chips in numerous arms, reverse center medallion missing, in better than fine condition.
Prussia, Kingdom. An Order of the Crown in gold, a white enamelled cross pattee, the obverse medallion presents a crown, with a blue enamelled ring inscribed GOTT MIT UNS, the reverse medallion presents a royal cypher with a blue enamelled surround inscribed Den 18 OCTOBER 1861, measures 14.63mm (w) x 16.83mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.
Spain, Kingdom. An Order of Naval Merit, White Distinction, a gold and white enamel cross with a blue enamelled anchor on the obverse, reverse cross is plain white enamel, surmounted by a large crown, measures 11.57mm (w) x 23.05mm (h – inclusive of cross adorned crown suspension), crown has been reattached, on a replacement suspension ring connected to chain, enamel intact, in very fine condition.
Denmark, Kingdom. An Order of Dannebrog (Christian X, 1912-1947) in Gold, presenting a white enamelled cross with red enamelled border inscribed GUD OG KON GEN C5, with a crown between each arm, the reverse is inscribed FVI 1219 W 1671 1808, the badge is suspended by a royal cypher and crown, measures 11.10mm (w) x 25.70mm (h – inclusive of cross adorned crown suspension), enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.
Sweden, Kingdom. An Order of Vasa, in silver gilt, a white enamelled Maltese cross with ball finials, a crown in each quadrant, the obverse medallion presenting a fasces on a black enamelled field, surrounded by a red enamelled ring inscribed GUSTAV DEN III INSTIFTARE MDCCLXXII, the reverse mirrors the obverse, surmounted by a crown suspension, measures 16.75mm (w) x 25.65mm (h – inclusive of cross adorned crown suspension), dark patina, silver gilt wear on crowns in quadrants, enamel intact, in very fine condition.
Sweden, Kingdom. An Order of the North Star, in 18K gold, a Maltese cross with white enamelled arms with ball finials, the obverse medallion presents a white enamelled star on a blue enamelled field inscribed NESCIT OCCASUM, the reverse mirrors the obverse, hallmarked with three crowns, a Swedish state control mark from 1912, and marked 18K on suspension above 12 o’clock arm, suspended by a large crown, measures 17.15mm (w) x 25.50mm (h – inclusive of crown suspension), enamel intact, in extremely fine condition.
Sweden, Kingdom. An Order of the Tower and Sword, in silver gilt, a Maltese cross with white enamelled arms with ball finials and crowns in each quadrant, the obverse medallion in gold presents a blue enamelled field with crowns and sword, the reverse medallion presents a sword with a wreath, surmounted by blue enamelled crossed swords and crown, measures 14.50mm (w) x 22.60mm (h – inclusive of crown), enamels intact, darker patina, in extremely fine condition.
All miniatures are linked to a gold chain consisting of a thin pin on each end, with two long fishtailed gold ropes, measuring 110mm in length from the end of each chain, weighing 18.2 grams in total, on pin presents partial mark of the Swedish three crown hallmark denoting state control from 1912, a beautiful collection of miniatures in very fine condition.
