Hungary, Kingdom. A Rare 1St Parachute Battalion Group To András Kiss

A rare and extensive Second War Hungarian 1st Parachute Battalion group named to András Kiss, all coming from his family; including his side cap, constructed of olive-drab wool, fully surrounded by fold-down side panels held in place at the front by a row of machine stitching, the peak bearing an insignia constructed of bronze, consisting of multiple rows of raised pebbling with an enameled centerpiece in the form of a Hungarian tri-colour, measuring 30 mm in diameter, underneath the insignia are dual bronzed magnetic metal buttons bearing raised Crowns of St. Stephen, stitched onto the left flap is a forest green wool triangle held in place by three olive-drab threaded braids, the right flap bears a Communications Specialist insignia, constructed of feinzink and consisting of a laurel wreath joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a bundle of four lightning bolts, and topped by a Crown of St. Stephen, measuring 25 mm (w) x 27 mm (h), the interior features a complete tan-coloured cotton liner, the cap is unmarked and measures 265 mm (w) x 130 mm (h) when folded, with some soiling of the interior liner evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.

A Proof of Origin certificate, constructed of white paper with black ink and named to András Kiss, indicating a birthdate of 16 June 1918, issued at Pápa on 19 January 1942, measuring 207 mm (w) x 288 mm (h), tearing and soiling evident, in overall very fine condition.

An award certificate for a Parachutist Badge, constructed of off-white paper stock with a handwritten black ink inscription, named to András Kiss, issued at Pápa on 20 September 1943, measuring 266 mm (w) x 362 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition and very rare.

A lot of his personal photographs, including three depicting him as a parachutists landing during a training exercise, each affixed to a card stock backer, unmarked, measuring 125 mm (w) x 178 mm (h), with minor material fatigue evident, in overall better than very fine condition; two large photographs of András Kiss, one depicting the subject in a Hungarian Army uniform and the other in a parachutist uniform, both unmarked and measuring 128 mm (w) x 178 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition; a small photograph of András Kiss, depicted in uniform and wearing a Parachutist Badge, a Hungarian Bravery Medal, and a Medal for the Return of Southern Hungary, the reverse with a handwritten date of 8 April 1942 and a location of Pápa, measuring 58 mm (w) x 86 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, and; a photo collage of 1st Hungarian Parachute Battalion personnel, including a captioned photograph of András Kiss, dated 1942, with a handwritten inscription on the reverse, measuring 236 mm (w) x 168 mm (h), in extremely fine condition and very rare grouping.
