Greece, Republic. An Order of the Phoenix, Grand Cross by Faude & Huguenin, c.1990

(Τάγμα του Φοίνικος). Instituted May 13, 1926. Type III. (1975-present). Sash badge, in silver gilt and enamels, a white cross with a central phoenix, reverse plain with a cartouche of the national coat of arms with "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ" (Greek Republic), measures 57.8 mm (w) x 61.5 mm (h), enamels intact, extremely fine. 

A Star of the Order, in silver, a silver star of eight smooth rayed arms, the obverse bears a superimposed phoenix, reverse bears a vertical pin flanked by dual stays, measures 87.6 mm (w) x 87.70 mm, weighs 86.0 grams, marked HF above the hinge denoting Faude & Huguenin, minor wear, in extremely fine condition. 

Contained in a case of issue, blue leatherette exterior with white silk interior marked “Faude & Huguenin Switzerland”, with blue velvet medalbed and sash compartment below, measures 150 mm (w) x 305 mm (h) x 70 mm (d), small dings and contact marks, functional hinge and clasp, remains extremely fine.
