German Honour Coin of the World War with Document to Christian Ruttmann
A German Honour Coin, a circular medal constructed of bronze, the obverse bears the goddess of victory on the left, holding a laurel wreath with a soldier to the right holding a helmet and a rifle, the reverse bears a central Iron Cross Paty with oak leaves at the bottom, the top reads “FÜRS VATERLAND” (FOR FATHERLAND), with loop for suspension on a black, white and red striped ribbon, ribbon bears a clasp of an oak leaf wreath overlaid with a sword, measuring 32.44 mm (w) x 36.35 mm (h), very fine.
A German Honour Coin Document to Christian Ruttmann, on cream coloured paper. With an ornate border of oak leaves, ribbons and Iron Crosses, with an image of the Honour Coin at the top right corner. The document is signed, numbered “Nr. 905447” and stamped on the reverse. Presenting two folding creases, creasing, scuffing and tearing at edges. The reverse is taped in three places. Measuring 242 mm (w) x 171 mm (h), fine.
A Wound Badge, Black Grade, (Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz). Constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath, joined together at the bottom by a bowtie ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 38.02 mm (w) x 43.09 mm (h), weighing 11.7 grams, in near mint condition.
