Germany, Wehrmacht. A Spanish Volunteer Medal, with Issue Package, by Deschler & Sohn

(Erinnerungsmedaille für die spanischen Freiwilligen im Kampf gegen den Bolschewismus mit Tüte). Constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a central raised sword overlaid by shields bearing raised Heer and Falange insignia, topped by a Stahlhelm, and situated above a swastika flanked by clutches of laurel leaves, the reverse bearing an inscription of “DIVISIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE VOLUNTARIOS EN RUSIA” (“DIVISION OF SPANISH VOLUNTEERS IN RUSSIA”), above an Iron Cross topped by laurel branches, unmarked, measuring 32.48 mm in diameter, weighing 11.2 grams, accompanied by its original issue package, constructed of brown paper stock, the exterior maker marked “DESCHLER & SOHN, MÜNCHEN”, measuring 55 mm (w) x 105 mm (h), demonstrating near-total loss of finish to the medal, in very fine condition.
