(Wehrmacht Ausweispapiere). A mixed lot of service books to decorated Eastern and Western Front combatants, including:
1 A Luftwaffe Soldbuch, constructed of a blue-grey card stock binding with 24 paginated interior pages, named to Otto Schafferczik, who was born on 24 March 1917 in Vienna, served with Transportbegleitkompanie LW 6/XVII, and who received the War Merit Cross II Class (8 June 1941), the Black Grade Wound Badge (25 September 1944), the War Merit Cross I Class (1 November 1944), and the Wehrmacht Driver Proficiency Badge in Gold (10 November 1944), retaining a certified black-and-white photo of Schaffarczik, measuring 10.5 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h) and accompanied by a post-war Austrian identity pass, both demonstrating minor and age-appropriate material fatigue, in overall better than very fine condition.
2. A Wehrpaß, constructed of a field-grey card stock binding with 52 paginated interior pages, named to Alfred Gasch, who was born on 7 April 1898, served during the First World War from 1 October 1914 until 5 Match 1919 (leaving service as a Leutnant and having primarily served with Infanterie-Regiment 179), and who re-entered military service from 1939 with Infanterie-Regiment 398 (primarily serving on the Western Front), receiving the 1914 Iron Cross II Class (3 November 1916), the Iron Cross I Class (8 November 1917), the Wound Badge (2 September 1918), and the Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 for Combatants (23 July 1937) among other distinctions, exiting service on 10 February 1943 with the rank of Oberleutnant, retaining a certified black-and-white photo of Gasch, measuring 10.5 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), demonstrating loosening of the binding, in very fine condition.
3. A second Wehrpaß, constructed of a field-grey card stock binding with 52 paginated interior pages, named to Paul Krause, who was born on 9 January 1909 in Oppeln, entered Wehrmacht service in 1940, served with Infanterie-Panzer-Jäger Ersatz Kompanie 8, Eisenbahn Ersatz-Pionier-Bataillon 2, and Eisenbahn Bau-Kompanie 115, and who received the Eastern Front Medal (10 August 1942) and the War Merit Cross II Class with Swords (30 January 1944), retaining a certified black-and-white photo of Krause, in extremely fine condition.
