(Abzeichen und Insignien). A mixed lot of badges and insignia, including:
1. A Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a clip hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 36.09 mm (w) x 43.49 mm (h), weighing 6.6 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
2. A Destroyer War Badge, constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, surrounding a central destroyer cutting through waves, with its bow extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a flat wire catch emanating from a plate, maker marked with the logo of Rudolf Souval, Vienna, measuring 45.65 mm (w) x 53.35 mm (h), weighing 19.1 grams, the hinge and pinback are missing, in otherwise very find condition.
3. A Wehrmacht Driver Proficiency Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an circular laurel leaf wreath, surrounding a central steering wheel on a pebbled field, affixed to a magnetic metal backplate with a grey wool backer (indicating Luftwaffe issue) and mostly-intact paper liner, the badge measuring 40.97 mm (w) x 44.50 mm (h), demonstrating a small spot of oxidation to the obverse base metal, in better than very fine condition.
4. A Heer EM/NCO’s belt buckle, constructed of nickel silver, the obverse bearing a central raised Reichswehr-style German national eagle, situated within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) with laurel branches, the reverse with a loop and attachment claws emanating from a functional roller, unmarked, measuring 62 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), a late Reichswehr-issue bridging the period of the transition to the Wehrmacht in extremely fine condition.
