Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath surrounding a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, situated above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch emanating from an oblong plate, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a documented variant produced by “Unknown Maker #11” as examined in “A Definitive Guide to the German Awards of World War II - Volume 1: The General Assault Badge” by Frank Heukemes, 2005, pages 300-303, measuring 42.80 mm (w) x 52.78 mm (h), weighing 32.1 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, of two-piece card stock construction, the interior retaining an original paper liner, the base bearing a handwritten price of “1,50” (Reichsmarks), otherwise unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 65 mm (l) x 15 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
