Germany, Wehrmacht. A Flare Pistol Holster

(Wehrmacht Pistolentasche für Leuchtpistole). A well-preserved Wehrmacht flare pistol holster, constructed of multiple panels of pressed blackened leather, the top edge riveted with a flap of identical construction which extends over the front an is perforated with an eyelets reinforced with a blackened magnetic metal grommet, accommodating a leather strap which fits through a magnetic metal ring riveted to the side for secure closure, with an additional integral strap affixed to the front for the retention of an original and matching cleaning rod, itself constructed of magnetic metal and bearing an illegible Waffenamt mark, the interior of the lid similarly stamped with an illegible Waffenamt mark, measuring 9 cm (w) x 30 cm (h), demonstrating minor and age-appropriate material fatigue to the leather, in near extremely fine condition.
