Germany, Third Reich. An Honour Cross of the German Mother, in Bronze, with its Packet of Issue by Gottlieb Friedrich Keck & Sohn

(Ehrenkreuze der Deutschen Mutter in Bronze). Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, all on loops for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Latin Cross with arms joined through the quadrants by stylized rays, the obverse of each with blue enameled arms, all bearing central white enameled medallions overlaid by black swastikas circumscribed by raised inscriptions of “Der Deutschen Mutter” (To the German Mother), the reverse of each bearing an etched institution date of “16. Dezember 1938” and a signature of the Führer, unmarked, measuring 36.06 mm (w) x 45.76 mm (l). Accompanied by its packet of issue, constructed of paper, the front reads “Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter Dritte Stufe” in black ink, the reverse is marked with the maker marked by “Gottlieb Friedrich Keck & Sohn, Pforzheim”, measuring 104 mm (w) x 131 mm (l), the packet is slightly wrinkled, but the pair is in overall near mint condition.
