Description

(Winterhilfswerk Sammelbüsche - Gau Steiermark). A well-preserved Winterhilfswerk (WHW) collection box, constructed of a magnetic metal shell which retains the vast majority of its original red paint, featuring a retractable lid with a narrow slot for the insertion of coins and a round hold for the insertion of paper currency (appropriately flanked by an inscription of “PAPIERGELD”/”PAPER MONEY”), closing with a snap button which meets two protruding clips perforated with holes for the addition of metal wire seal, the lower edge bearing a raised marked of “GAU STEIERMARK”, completing with a handle set on a functional swivel hinge, the base maker marked “WESTERMANN & CO. GMBH, NEHEIM-RUHR”, circumscribing the firm’s “WESCO” logo, the interior retaining 13 coins in 1, 5, and 10 Pfenning denominations, in overall near extremely fine condition.
