Germany, Third Reich. A State Forestry Official’s Belt and Buckle

 (Deutscher Forstverein Gürtel und Schnalle). A State Forestry Official’s belt and buckle, the former constructed of pressed dark brown leather with a dark green wool felt underlay, one end stitched with a hidden leather tongue perforated with seven sets of dual eyelets for an adjustable fit, the opposite end stitched into a loop to accommodate the buckle, the tongue end stamped with a size of “80”, otherwise unmarked, measuring 4.5 cm (w) x 85 cm (l), demonstrating age-appropriate material fatigue to the leather and sporadic mothing to the wool underlay, in very fine condition; the latter constructed of gilded aluminum, the obverse bearing a central raised German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika on a pebbled field, situated within a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse with a clip and loop, unmarked, measuring 55 mm (w) x 50 mm (h), demonstrating significant loss of finish and patination throughout the base metal but with some intact gilt indicating that the buckle is likely a Senior Official’s accoutrement, attached to a leather belt for wear on the “B-Rock” service tunic, in very fine condition.
