Germany, Third Reich. A Paired of Cased Awards for Civil and Occupation Service

1. A Civil Service 25-Year Faithful Service Award, constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with pinback, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms joined through the quadrants by a circular oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a black enameled swastika, the reverse bearing an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 40.84 mm (w) x 45.78 mm (h), weighing 23.0 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, of two-piece card stock construction, the exterior with a faux red leather liner, the lid bearing a silvered number “25” within a cogwheel, the interior with a maroon felt liner, the lid liner retaining a maker’s label reading “R. SOUVAL, WIEN”, measuring 50 mm (w) x 100 mm (x) x 10 mm (h), in near mint condition.

2. A Sudetenland Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.04 mm in diameter, weighing 15.3 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a rigid card stock frame with a faux maroon leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a white rayon liner liner, with a slotted maroon felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 100 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), demonstrating some material fatigue to the case, in extremely fine condition.
