(Abzeichen). A pair of badges, including:
1. An Imperial-issue Silver Grade Wound Badge, constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, surrounding a central Stahlhelm on top of a pair of crossed swords on a cut-out background, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 37.90 mm (w) x 43.37 mm (h), weighing 10.2 grams, demonstrating loss of silver finish exposing the tombak base and some patination throughout, a veteran’s example produced c. 1935 in near extremely fine condition.
2. A DRL Sports Badge, constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a ribbon defaced by a mobile swastika, surrounding central stylized initials “DRL”, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “FRITZ KOHM, PFORZHEIM”, measuring 39.55 mm (w) x 48.63 mm (h), weighing 18.0 grams, demonstrating minor loss of gilt finish, a rare example in near extremely fine condition.
