(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of service and merit badges, including:
1. A General Assault Badge, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, surrounding a central Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, situated above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch emanating from an oblong plate, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid, measuring 42.60 mm (w) x 53.00 mm (h), weighing 29.1 grams, demonstrating minor loss of finish, in near extremely fine condition.
2. A 1938 HJ National Trade Competition Victor’s Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, surrounding a white enameled disc, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel overlaid by an enameled HJ insignia, circumscribed by an inscription of “KREISSIEGER” and flanked by a date of “1938”, the reverse with a narrow barrel hinge and flattened vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “G. BREHMER, MARKNEUKIRCHEN”, measuring 49.12 mm (w) x 47.04 mm (h), weighing 27.7 grams, demonstrating some flecking and scratching to the enamels, in near extremely fine condition.
3. A Sturmabteilung (SA) Sports Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, surrounding a central mobile swastika overlaid by a sword, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback, maker marked “BERNSBACH/SA.”, missing its catch and demonstrating loss of finish throughout the base metal, a Type III badge in very fine condition.
