(Medaillen). A mixed lot of medals, including:
1. A Sudetenland Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon affixed to a parade mount with a horizontal pinback and dark grey wool reverse liner, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, situated above a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.14 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
2. A War Merit Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Maltese Cross with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR KRIEGSVERDIENST 1939” (“FOR WAR MERIT 1939”), unmarked, measuring 32.21 mm in diameter, weighing 12.7 grams, in near mint condition.
3. A Romanian Crusade Against Communism Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised cross overlaid by a hand clutching a sword, flanked by a date of “1941”, circumscribed by an inscription of CRUCIADA ÎMPOTRIVA COMUNISMULUI” (“CRUSADE AGAINST COMMUNISM”), the reverse bearing a raised female figure, circumscribed by an inscription of “ROMÂNIA RECUNOSCĂTOARE” (“ROMANIA IS GRATEFUL”), engraver marked “P. GRANT”, measuring 31.94 mm in diameter, weighing 18.5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating some oxidation to the obverse, in better than very fine condition.
