Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Badges

(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of badges, including:

1. An Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse with a narrow barrel hinge and vertical pinback, unmarked, measuring 47.94 mm (w) x 62.90 mm (h), weighing 31.4 grams, the catch is missing and the base metal demonstrates total loss of silver finish, in very fine condition.

2. A German Red Cross (DRK) Volunteer’s badge, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 30 mm in diameter, demonstrating chipping and loss of finish to the enamels and base metal, respectively, in very fine condition.

3. A lot of three Reich Labour Service stick pins, each constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, all unmarked and measuring 16 mm (w) x 22 mm (h), demonstrating some flecking to the enamels, in very fine condition.

4. A mixed lot of 24 commemorative event badges, featuring examples constructed of aluminum, bronze, zink, and magnetic metal, some demonstrating loss of finish or oxidation, in overall very fine condition.
