(Abzeichen, Insignien, und Münzen). A mixed lot of items, including:
1. A DRL Sports Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a ribbon defaced by a mobile swastika, surrounding central stylized initials “DRL”, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “WERNSTEIN, JENA”, measuring 38.69 mm (w) x 48.18 mm (h), weighing 17.9 grams, demonstrating loss of finish to the obverse, in near extremely fine condition.
2. A factory-unfinished Eastern Front Medal, constructed of zink, unmarked, measuring 37.77 mm (w) x 46.22 mm (h), weighing 20.6 grams, likely retrieved from the ruins of the bomb-damaged C.F. Zimmermann factory in Pforzheim, in very fine condition.
3. A Heer Gebirgsjäger sleeve insignia, constructed of field-grey wool, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered multi-coloured edelweiss, situated within a knotted border topped by a piton, unmarked, measuring 55 mm (w) x 66 mm (h), in unissued and near mint condition.
4. A 1937 Sturmabteilung Gera district sports games commemorative badge, constructed of toned zink, vertical pinback, the reverse maker marked “WERNSTEIN, JENA”, measuring 28 mm (w) x 40 mm (h), in very fine condition.
5. Two 5 Reichsmark coins, constructed of silver alloys, one dated 1935 and one dated 1939, weighing 28.0 grams overall, in extremely fine condition.
6. A Prussian Fire Brigade Merit Badge, constructed of gilded bronze, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, marked “ORIGINAL”, measuring 31.06 mm (w) x 38.11 mm (h), weighing 11.5 grams, in extremely fine condition.
7. A small medallion, constructed of aluminum, the obverse bearing a raised profile of Ferdinand von Zeppelin, flanked by name, circumscribed by an inscription of “ZIEL ERKANNT - KRAFT GESPANNT!” (“DESTINATION KNOWN - POWER INTENSE!”), the reverse bearing a raised depiction of an airship flying against a Mainz skyline, circumscribed by an inscription indicating that the medallion was issued to commemorate the 1908 flight of LZ. 4, measuring 33 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
