Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Badges

(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of badges, including:

1. A Silver Grade Wound Badge, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “65” for Klein & Quenzer, Idar-Oberstein, measuring 36.52 mm (w) x 43.87 mm (h), weighing 30.5 grams, in near extremely fine condition.

2. A Sturmabteilung (SA) Sports Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an circular oak leaf wreath, surrounding a mobile swastika overlaid by a sword, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, stamped with an award number of “819098”, maker marked “BERG & NOLTE A.G., LÜDENSCHEID”, measuring 45.33 mm (w) x 57.87 mm (h), weighing 17.0 grams, demonstrating loss of finish throughout, in better than very fine condition.

3. A 1934 SA Brigade 45 deployment badge, constructed of bronze, the reverse bearing an illegible maker’s mark, measuring 50 mm (w) x 50 mm (h), missing its pinback, in fair condition.

4. A 1934 Deutsche Arbeitsfront (German Labour Front/DAF) trade competition badge, constructed of silvered brass, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 35 mm (w) x 40 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
