(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of badges, including:
1. A Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a clip hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 35 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
2. A Silver Grade Wound Badge, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a partially-visible mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened and rounded catch emanating from a crimped base, maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “100” for Wächtler & Lange, Mittweida, measuring 35 mm (w) x 42 mm (h), demonstrating loss of silver finish throughout, in addition to deliberate grinding out of the swastika to permit post-war wear by the recipient, in fair condition.
3. A Heer Jäger insignia, constructed of olive-drab rayon with multi-coloured machine embroidery, unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 60 mm (h), a late-war variant in extremely fine condition.
4. A DRL Sports Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a ribbon defaced by a swastika, surrounding initials “DRL”, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, maker marked “WERNSTEIN, JENA”, measuring 38 mm (w) x 50 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
5. A 1939 SA-Gruppe DOnau combat games commemorative badge, constructed of bakelite, vertical pinback, the reverse bearing a maker’s mark of “RICHARD SIEPER & SÖHNE, LÜDENSCHEID”, with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “M9/25” for the same, measuring 36 mm (w) x 50 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
6. A 1943 Vienna allotment gardens medallion, constructed of silvered feinzink, unmarked, measuring 50 mm in diameter, demonstrating some loss of finish to the base metal, in better than very fine condition.
