Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Badges for Military and Civil Service

(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of badges, including:

1. A Silver Grade Wound Badge, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath, with a central Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch emanating from a circular plate, maker marked with LDO code “L24” for Fritz Zimmermann, Stuttgart, measuring 35 mm (w) x 43 mm (h), demonstrating minor loss of finish throughout, in better than very fine condition.

2. A Sturmabteilung (SA) Sports Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of a circular oak wreath, surrounding a mobile swastika overlaid by a sword, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “DONNER KUNSTABZ., BEDARF BONN A/RH”, measuring 44 mm (w) x 56 mm (h), a Type III award in near extremely fine condition.

3. A Reich Labour Service of Female Youth (RADwJ) Silver Service Award, constructed of silvered bronze, horizontal pinback, the reverse stamped with an award number of “59620”, measuring 44 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition.

4. An Honour Cross of the German Mother, Bronze Grade miniature, constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from a bow tie ribbon with horizontal pinback, the reverse maker marked with LDO code “L/21” for Förster & Barth, Pforzheim, measuring 15 mm (w) x 20 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
