(Abzeichen und Insignien). A mixed lot of five badges and insignia, including:
1. A War Merit Cross I Class with Swords, constructed of silvered zink, consisting of a Maltese Cross with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a block hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, the pinback maker marked with LDO code “L/18” for B.H. Mayer, Pforzheim, measuring 49.67 mm (w) x 49.34 mm (h), weighing 20.8 grams, demonstrating total loss of silver finish, in very fine condition.
2. A Luftwaffe EM/NCO’s visor cap insignia, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a central wreathed tri-colour cockade, flanked on each side by stylized wings, unmarked, measuring 145 mm (w) x 40 mm (h), the reverse attachment prongs are missing and total loss of silver finish is evident, in fair condition.
3. An early NSDAP/youth sympathizer belt buckle, constructed of gilded magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a painted NSDAP-style German flag set within a stylized gilt border, the reverse with a functional clip, unmarked, measuring 45 mm (w) x 38 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
4. A small box, constructed of patinated magnetic metal with an intricately-detailed exterior, the lid fastened with an enameled NSDAP membership badge, unmarked, measuring 75 mm (w) x 45 mm (l), with surface chipping visible to the enamel of the badge, in overall very fine condition.
5. An Austrian Heimwehr Merit Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension, unmarked, measuring 31.32 mm (w) x 49.95 mm (h), weighing 22.8 grams, in extremely fine condition.
