(Abzeichen und Insignien). A mixed lot of badges and insignia, including:
1. A War Merit Cross I Class with Swords, constructed of silvered zink, consisting of a Cross Pattée with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a barrel hing and tapering vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by C.F. Zimmermann, Pforzheim, measuring 49.32 mm (w) x 48.83 grams, weighing 20.1 grams, demonstrating total loss of finish to the base metal and possible hinge replacement, in very fine condition.
2. A DRL Sports Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse consisting of a oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a ribbon defaced by a mobile swastika, surrounding central stylized initials “DRL”, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “WERNSTEIN, JENA”, measuring 38.70 mm (w) x 48.43 mm (h), weighing 17.2 grams, demonstrating moderate loss of finish throughout the base metal, in very fine condition.
3. A 1935 Day of German Sailing commemorative badge, constructed of aluminum, horizontal pinback, the reverse maker marked “HOFFSTÄTTER, BONN”, measuring 40 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
4. A Kyffhäuserbund cap badge, constructed of gilded and blackened brass, the reverse retaining both attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 40 mm (w) x 50 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
5. A Luftwaffe Flight Personnel/Fallschirmjäger Obergefreiter collar tab, constructed of golden-yellow wool with a buckram core and pinned with three gulls, unmarked, measuring 40 mm (w) x 60 mm (l), the reverse notably retaining an original inventory price label, in uniform-removed and extremely fine condition.
6. A Luftwaffe Flight Personnel/Fallschirmjäger Oberleutnant collar tab, constructed of golden-yellow wool with a buckram core, trimmed with twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire piping, and bearing two silver aluminum wire gulls above an oak leaf wreath of identical construction, unmarked, measuring 45 mm (w) x 60 mm (l), demonstrating minor material fatigue throughout, in uniform-removed and better than very fine condition.
