Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Awards for Military and Civil Service

(Auszeichnungen). A mixed lot of awards, including:

1. A Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a clip hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “107” for Carl Wild, Hamburg, measuring 36.83 mm (w) x 44.22 mm (h), weighing 10.1 grams, demonstrating some loss of finish, in very fine condition.

2. A Luftwaffe Western France District Merit Medal, constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a map of France overlaid by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, topped by an inscription of “ALLES FÜR DEUTSCHLAND” (“EVERYTHING FOR GERMANY”), the reverse bearing a wreathed inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTLEISTUNGEN IM BEREICH DES FELDLUFTGAUKOMMANDOS WESTFRANKREICH” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE FIELD AIR COMMAND OF WESTERN FRANCE”), unmarked, measuring 41.09 mm in diameter, weighing 32.5 demonstrating sporadic oxidation, demonstrating moderate surface oxidation, a scarce decoration in very fine condition.

3. A Civil Service 25-Year Faithful Service Award, constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms joined through the quadrants by a circular oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central black enameled swastika, the reverse bearing a central inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 42.18 mm (h), weighing 21.3 grams, in extremely fine condition.
