Germany, Third Reich. A Mint Air Defence Honour Decoration, II Class, with Case

 (Luftschutz-Ehrenzeichen II. Klasse mit Etui). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of aluminum, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with pinback, consisting of a double-sided circular oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, the obverse bearing a mobile swastika circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM LUFTSCHUTZ” (“FOR MERIT IN AIR DEFENCE”), the reverse bearing an institution date of “1938”, unmarked, measuring 38.75 mm in diameter, weighing 10.8 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a rigid card stock frame with a faux grey leather exterior liner, the lid bearing an inscription of “LUFTSCHUTZ-EHRENZEICHEN 2. STUFE”, the interior with a grey felt lid liner and slotted medal bed, unmarked, measuring 45 mm (w) x 100 mm (l), a scarce complete set in near mint condition.
