Germany, Third Reich. A Medal Bar for a First and Second World War Non-Combatant

(Ordensschnalle). A medal bar for a recipient who rendered meritorious non-combatant service to Germany’s efforts in both the First and Second World Wars, featuring three awards, including:

1. A War Merit Cross II class, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with bearing a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central wreathed date of “1939”, without visible marks, measuring 48.64 mm (w) x 48.57 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

2. An Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 for Non-Combatants, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse bearing wreathed dates “1914-1918”, the reverse maker marked with a logo possibly attributed to F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid or Alfred Stübbe, Berlin, measuring 38.01 mm in (w) x 41.82 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

3. A Civil Service 25-Year Faithful Service Award, constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms joined through the quadrants by a circular oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a black enameled swastika, the reverse bearing an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 40.82 mm (w) x 45.60 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

All suspended from a 95 mm-long bar with a horizontal pinback, green wool liner, and zink core, unmarked, demonstrating some fatigue and mothing to the liner, in near extremely fine condition.
