Germany, Third Reich. A Lot of Post-War Signed Knight’s Cross Winner Photographs

A studio portrait of Leutnant der Reserve Ludwig Simon, signed in black ink on the photograph, measuring 87 mm (w) x 124 mm (h); a studio portrait of Hauptmann Jürgen von Goerne-Plaue, signed in black ink on the photograph, measuring 90 mm (w) x 131 mm (h); a studio portrait of Hauptmann Karl-Heinz Holzapfel, signed in black ink on the photograph, measuring 98 mm (w) x 136 mm (h), all very fine. 

Footnote: Ludwig Simon was born 9 May 1920 and was decorated with the Iron Cross I and II Class and the Knight’s Cross. Jürgen von Goerne-Plaue was born 2 December 1908 and entered Army service in 1928. He became commander of the 29th Panzergrenadier Division. He captured Desna Bridge whilst commander of the division and was awarded the Knight’s Cross. He was decorated with the Iron Cross I and II Class, Knight’s Cross and Golden Party Badge. Karl-Heinz Holzapfel was born 5 July 1915 and was awarded the Iron Cross I and II Class, Knight’s Cross, Anschluss Medal, Sudetenland Medal, Wound Badge in black, silver and gold, and German Cross.
