(Reichsfeuerwehr-Ehrenzeichen, II. Klasse mit Schwertern). Instituted 22 June 1936 by Wilhelm Frick. (1936-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from tis period original ribbon, consisting of a Geneva Cross, the obverse joined through the quadrants with a circular ring bearing an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM FEUERLÖSCHWESEN”, with white enameled arms overlaid by stylized flames, bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a black mobile swastika situated within a black ring, unmarked, measuring 43.41 mm (w) x 47.63 mm (h), weighing 17.3 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a depressed black velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 60 mm (w) x 70 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), demonstrating flecking and scratching throughout the enamels of the decoration with additional loss of finish to the base metal, in overall very fine condition.
