(Reichsfeuerwehr-Ehrenzeichen II. Klasse mit Etui). Instituted 22 June 1936 by Wilhelm Frick. (1936-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Geneva Cross, the obverse with white enameled arms bearing stylized red flames, overlaid by a central white enameled medallion bearing a black mobile swastika, with the arms of the cross joined through the quadrants by a circular ring bearing an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM FEUERLÖSCHWESEN” (“FOR MERIT IN FIRE-FIGHTING”), the suspension loop maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “18” for Karl Wurster, Markneukirchen, measuring 43.28 mm (w) x 47.71 mm (h), weighing 20.6 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and partially-intact hinge cover, with a fitted black velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 60 mm (w) x 70 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), demonstrating minor flecking and surface scratching to the enamels, in near extremely fine condition.
