Germany, Third Reich. A Civil Service Long Service Award, Special Grade for 50 Years

(Treuedienst-Ehrenzeichen Sonderstufe für 50 Jahre). Constructed of gilded and silvered bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, consisting of a silvered Cross Pattée with pebbled arms joined through the quadrants by a circular and gilded oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central black enameled swastika, the twelve o’clock arm bearing a raised number “50”, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 41.41 mm (w) x 46.05 mm (h), weighing 22.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), a scarce award in extremely fine condition.
