Germany, Third Reich. A Bavarian State Forestry Official’s Belt and Buckle

(Forstdienst Gürtel und Schnalle). A matching Bavarian State Forestry Service official’s belt and buckle, the former constructed of pressed dark green leather, the reverse featuring a green wool underlay, with two sliding loops of identical construction, one end retaining a reverse leather tongue perforated with seven sets of dual eyelets for an adjustable fit, the opposite end stitched into a loop to retain the buckle, the tongue stamped with a size mark of “110”, otherwise unmarked, measuring 4 cm (w) x 110 cm (l), demonstration minor and age-appropriate material fatigue throughout, in very fine condition; the latter constructed of gilded brass, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf weather, joined together at the bottom by a mobile swastika, surrounding a central raised Bavarian lion rampant situated on a pebbled background, the reverse with a clip and loop fitted through one end of the belt and securely stitched into position, unmarked, measuring 45 mm in diameter, a scarce accompaniment to a matching set in extremely fine condition.
