(Waffen-SS Fotoalbum). A fascinating private wartime Waffen-SS photo album, constructed of a heavy card stock binding with a faux dark brown leather exterior liner, the cover bearing a silvered zink disc overlaid by a Waffen-SS soldiers wearing a Stahlhelm in profile, also bearing a silvered inscription topped by a silvered second-pattern reproduction Totenkopf insignia, the spine perforated with four holes reinforced with non-magnetic metal grommets, the interior content consisting of 17 black card stock pages separated by wax paper dividers, pasted or otherwise affixed with 110 black-and-white images, opening with scenes of uniformed Waffen-SS Enlisted personnel and battle-damaged buildings in an unknown location (presumably on the Eastern Front), followed by images of personnel on review (with clear shots of SS flags) and and at least, transitioning to an elaborate funeral service, before continuing to an array of images showing personnel of the 2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich (with a divisional emblem clearly visible on the reverse of one truck) wearing oak leaf pattern camouflage smocks, before showing winter scenes with Waffen-SS Officers and Knight’s Cross recipients in the field, supplemented by an array of studio portraits of Waffen-SS Officers and Enlisted personnel, wearing a variety of headgear, including an image of the graves of members of the 16th SS Panzergrenadier Division "Reichsführer-SS" in Baldine, Italy, closing with further images of personnel on review and large group photo (notably with an Obersturmführer wearing an assault gun wrap and two Tank Destruction Badges front and centre), meausring 27 cm (w) x 19.5 cm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue which includes some deterioration of the wax paper dividers, a superb and researchable album featuring an array of desirable images in near extremely fine condition.
