A matching set of Waffen-SS collar tabs for an SS-Obersturmführer, consisting of a unit tab, constructed of black wool with a buckram core, trimmed with twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire piping, and bearing silver aluminum wire Sig runes, the reverse retaining a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) label bearing a maker code of “A4/18”, measuring 40 mm (w) x 55 mm (l), and; a rank tab, constructed of black wool with a buckram core, trimmed with twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire piping, overlaid by a silver aluminum wire tresse bisected by black threading, and pinned with three silvered pips, unmarked, measuring 40 mm (w) x 55 mm (l); both tabs demonstrate moderate material fatigue to both the wool and wire (exposing the buckram core of the unit tab when viewed from the obverse), a uniform-removed set demonstrating the unmistakable signs of battlefield retrieval, in very fine condition.
