Description

(SS Kantinenbesteck). A pair of SS mess hall cutlery, including:

1. A table fork, constructed of magnetic stainless steel, the reverse bearing an engraved inscription of “SS REICH”, flanked by a maker’s mark of “ORIGINAL OLYMPIA” circumscribing the firm’s arena logo, in turn flanked by a mark of “OXYDEX ROSTFREI” indicating stainless steel construction, measuring 25 mm (w) x 210 mm (l), in extremely fine condition.

2. A butter knife, of two-piece stainless steel construction, consisting of a magnetic non-serrated blade affixed to a non-magnetic handle, the obverse bearing an engraved inscription of “SS-REICH”, with a maker’s mark of “RONEUSIL, ROSTFREI” flanked by the firm’s logos, with an additional partly-legible maker’s mark of “CLARFELD-ROSTFREI” visible on the blade, measuring 24 mm (w) x 250 mm (l), demonstrating a hole to the handle which reveals a hollow core and some wear to the lower edge of the blade consistent with use, in very fine condition.
