Description

(SS-Dienstauszeichnung, III. Klasse für 8 Jahre). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised swastika with ribbed arms, overlaid by central double Sig runes situated within a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse with a raised number “4”, overlaid by an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE SS”), unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by Deschler & Sohn, Munich, measuring 38.02 mm in diameter, weighing 26.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), the ribbon is missing its pinback, in extremely fine condition.
