(Reichsarbeitsdienst Fotoalbum Konvolut). A pair of private Reichsarbeitsdienst (Reich Labour Service/RAD) photo albums, including:
1. A small album, constructed of a card stock binding with an off-white canvas exterior liner, the cover affixed with a zink RAD cap insignia at the lower right corner, the spine perforated with two eyelets reinforced with magnetic metal grommets through which is loops an original drawstring which maintains the album’s structural integrity, the interior content consisting of 24 off-white card stock pages separated by wax paper dividers to protect the images, the latter consisting of 45 black-and-white photos depicting uniformed RAD personnel training, on review, and at leisure in uniform, including one image showing an Officer wearing the NSDAP Golden Party Badge, all uncaptioned, the interior of the back cover maker “L. SCHALLER, STUTTGART”, measuring 16 cm (w) x 11.5 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
2. A large album, constructed of a card stock binding with a faux green leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a multi-coloured RAD insignia in the upper left corner, the spine perforated with four eyelets reinforced with magnetic metal grommets through which is looped a drawstring which maintains the album’s structural integrity, the interior content consisting of 23 card stock pages separated by wax paper dividers to protect the images, opening with black-and-white portraits of AH and Reichsarbeitsführer Konstantin Hierl, followed by a studio portrait of the owner flanked by a handwritten AH quote, with the subsequent content consisting of 144 black-and-white photos depicting uniformed RAD personnel training, in the field, and at leisure, supplemented by an additional 12 loose photos, all uncaptioned, measuring 26.5 cm (w) x 19 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
