In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Schutzpolizei Schirmmütze für Offiziere). A well-preserved Schutzpolizei visor cap for Enlisted ranks, constructed of police-green wool. It features reinforced side walls which are fully lined on the exterior with a brown wool cap band. Both the top and bottom edges of the band are trimmed with light green piping, while an additional length of identical piping surrounds the outer edge of the crown. Pinned onto the peak is an aluminum cockade measuring 24 mm in diameter, while an aluminum Ordnungspolizei insignia is pinned onto the centre of the cap band directly below, and measuring 55 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). The lower edge of the cap band is flanked by pebbled studs accommodating a chinstrap which is constructed of multiple rows of twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire piping. A protruding vulcanfibre visor completes the exterior features, and is finished in black on the obverse and in light brown on the reverse. A multi-piece light green rayon liner encompasses the interior, while a narrow brown leather sweatband surrounds the walls. The crown retains an intact transparent plastic moisture guard, while the sweatband folds down to reveal a stamped post-war owner’s name of “OSCAR E. HOGAN”. The cap measures approximately 24 cm (w) x 28 cm (l) x 16 cm (h). Some issues consistent with age and wear are evident, and include sporadic fatigue to the base material, soiling of the interior liner, and some bending of the side walls resulting in distortion of the overall structure. The cap remains in a better than very fine condition.
