Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Long Service Award, II Class for 18 Years, with Case

(Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei II. Klasse für 18 Jahre mit Etui). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse overlaid by a central oval medallion bearing an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 43.27 mm (w) x 47.79 mm (h), weighing 23.0 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux green leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a silvered number “18” situated within an oak leaf wreath, the interior with a beige felt lid liner and medal bed, unmarked, measuring 55 mm (w) x 100 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
