Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Long Service Award, I Class for 25 Years with Case

(Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei, I. Klasse für 25 Jahre mit Etui). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1944 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from a replacement ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central oval disc overlaid by a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 42.23 mm (w) x 47.24 mm (h), weighing 24.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a card stock frame with a faux green leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilded and wreathed number “25”, the interior with a white rayon lid liner, with a slotted grey velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 102 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), the case demonstrates moderate material fatigue while the award remains in a near mint condition.
