(Nationalsozialistische Frauenschaft Deutsche Kinderschar Abzeichen). Constructed of silvered tombac and red and white enamels; horizontal pinback; maker marked “RZM M1/63” for “Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid” on reverse; measuring 17.86 mm in diameter; in overall extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The Deutsche Kinderschar was an organization of the Third Reich for children aged six to ten years. It served to indoctrinate the children early on with the National Socialist sentiment. Once the children turned ten, the girls became members of the Deutsche Jumgmädel (JM), and the boys became members of the Deutsche Jungvolk (DJ). When they turn 14, the children continued respectively Bund Deutscher Mädel (BDM) and the Hitlerjugend (HJ).
