Germany, NSDAP. A Rare Long Service Award, I Class for 25 Years

(Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP - I. Klasse für 25 Jahre). 2 April 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Three piece construction of gilded bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with white enameled arms, all joined through the quadrants by stylized rays, overlaid by a central white enameled medallion, surrounded by a circular oak leaf wreath, in turn overlaid by an NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse overlaid by a central white enameled medallion, surrounded by a circular oak leaf wreath, bearing a gilt inscription of “TREUE FÜR FÜHRER UND VOLK” (“LOYALTY FOR FÜHRER AND PEOPLE”), marked 19 on the suspension ring, measuring 42.32 mm (w) x 46.53 mm (h), weighing 25.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating some flecking to the enamels with surface wear to the obverse resulting in minor discolouration, a rare example of the most prestigious award available for loyal service to the NSDAP, in near extremely fine condition.
