In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

(Blutorden mit Etui). Instituted 9 November 1933. (1934-1935 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a German national eagle with its wings outstretched, clutching a wreath surrounding a date of “9. NOV”, flanked by an inscription of “MÜNCHEN 1923-1944”, the reverse bearing a raised and finely-detailed depiction of the Feldherrnhalle, topped by a mobile swastika set against a radiant background, circumscribed by an inscription of “UND IHR HABT DOCH GESIEGT” (“AND AFTER ALL, YOU ARE VICTORIOUS”), stamped at the bottom with an issue number of “2678” for NSDAP member Konrad Pichler, and a silver content number of “800”, otherwise unmarked, measuring 40.42 mm in diameter, weighing 22.9 grams, accompanied by later manufactured presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux maroon leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilded and embossed inscription of “8./9. NOVEMBER 1923” within a gilded border, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a depressed white velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 82 mm (w) x 92 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), minor tarnishing is visible decoration, a rare and complete set in near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Konrad Pichler was born on 23 October 1914 in Stainach, Styria. He joined the NSDAP on 7 March 1933 as member 1,455,900. Prior to the Anschluss, Pichler was charged with treason, likely for his participation in pro-NSDAP uprisings in 1934. It was for these actions that Pichler became eligible for the Blood Order after the award’s criteria was expanded. At the time of receipt Pichler was employed as a labourer and theatre operator.
