Germany, NSDAP. A Long Service Award, III Class for 10 Years, Heavy Version

(Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP III. Klasse für 10 Jahre). Instituted 2 April 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with ribbed arms joined through the quadrants by stylized rays, the obverse overlaid by a circular oak leaf wreath bearing a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse overlaid by a circular oak leaf wreath surrounding an inscription of “TREUE FÜR FÜHRER UND VOLK” (“LOYALTY FOR FÜHRER AND PEOPLE”), unmarked, measuring 42.41 mm (w) x 47.52 mm (h), weighing 51.0 grams, demonstrating some oxidation and chipping to the base metal, in better than very fine condition.
