Germany, NSDAP. A Long Service Award, III Class for 10 Years

(Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP III. Klasse für 10 Jahre). Instituted 2 April 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with its arms joined through the quadrants by stylized rays, the obverse overlaid by a central circular oak leaf wreath bearing a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse overlaid by a central circular oak leaf wreath surrounding an inscription of “TREUE FÜR FÜHRER UND VOLK” (“LOYALTY FOR FÜHRER AND PEOPLE”), unmarked, measuring 41.96 mm (w) x 46.89 mm (h), weighing 40.0 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating near-total loss of bronze finish to the base metal, in better than very fine condition.
