Germany, NSDAP. A Long Service Award, II Class for 15 Years

(Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP, II. Klasse für 15 Jahre). Instituted 2 April 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered zink alloy with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with ribbed and blue enameled arms joined through the quadrants by stylized rays, the obverse bearing a central blue enameled disc overlaid by a circular oak leaf wreath topped by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central blue enameled disc overlaid by a circular oak leaf wreath and topped by a silvered inscription of “TREUE FÜR FÜHRER UND VOLK” (“LOYALTY FOR FÜHRER AND PEOPLE”), unmarked, measuring 42.82 mm (w) x 47.25 mm (h), weighing 39.0 grams, demonstrating moderate loss of finish to the base metal resulting in some surface oxidation, in better than very fine condition.
