Germany, NSBO. A Kreis Vilsbiburg District Flag, with Pole Finial

(NSBO Fahne mit Fahnenspitz). A pair of NSBO items, including:

1. A district flag, constructed of a heavy red cotton base, trimmed along three edges with a twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire fringe, overlaid on each side with white cotton discs measuring 83 cm in diameter, in turn overlaid by multi-piece black cotton swastikas, the upper corner of each hoist edge bearing a rectangular black cotton patch trimmed with twisted and rolled white threaded piping, each overlaid by an embroidered inscription of “N.S.B.O. KREIS VILSBIBURG”, the hoist edge retaining seven non-magnetic metal rings for pole suspension, unmarked, measuring 132 cm (w) x 115 cm (h), demonstrating moderate soiling which is particularly visible to the white disc with additional minor material fatigue, in better than very fine condition.

2. A flag pole finial, constructed of silvered bronze, consisting of a double-sided NSBO insignia in the form of a hand gripping a hammer bearing a swastika, flanking a cogwheel bearing engraved initials “NSBO” highlighted in black, emanating from a domed base with a stem perforated with two holes for rivet insertion, unmarked, measuring 15 cm (w) x 20.5 cm (h), demonstrating minor scratching throughout with loosening of the base, in near extremely fine condition.
